Bill Stewart the former coach of the West Virginia Mountaineers died yesturday of an apparent heart attack. He led the Mountaineers to a 9-4 record each of his three years at the helm of the program. He took the head coaching job just after an upset victory over Oklahoma in the 2008 Fiesta Bowl. Rich Rodriguez had left for Michigan just weeks before. Stewart has been known to bleed Bluye and Gold. Many players tweeted yesturday thanking Stewart for all that he had done for them. One of my football coaches who attended West Virginia and knew Stewart said "He may not have been the best coach, but he was a great man."
