The Lebron Problem

On Tuesday Lebron James of the Miami Heat missed 2 game tying free throws at the end of the game.  On the last posession he didnt show any initiative to get the ball or make a play to win the game.  As Lebron is the most criticized athlete in all of sports the question rose again, does Lebron have what it takes to win an NBA Championship?

Lebron is human.  He has feelings.  He hears what everyone is saying.  I think all of the pressure is getting to him.  In Cleveland they had very low expectations and when he exceeded them it was good enough.  He drownded himself in his own fame and ignorance.  He needs to purely focus on basketball and loving the game again.

Death of Bill Stewart

Bill Stewart the former coach of the West Virginia Mountaineers died yesturday of an apparent heart attack.  He led the Mountaineers to a 9-4 record each of his three years at the helm of the program.  He took the head coaching job just after an upset victory over Oklahoma in the 2008 Fiesta Bowl.  Rich Rodriguez had left for Michigan just weeks before.  Stewart has been known to bleed Bluye and Gold.  Many players tweeted yesturday thanking Stewart for all that he had done for them.  One of my football coaches who attended West Virginia and knew Stewart said "He may not have been the best coach, but he was a great man."

Stan Van Gundy out in Orlando

Was the firing of Stan Van Gundy all about Dwight Howard?  It seems to be so.  The Magic were no where near a contender and the made the NBA Finals a couple years back.  Van Gundy and Howard's relationship was vbery rocky this year, both the player and coach had called eachother out.  I think that this firing was an attempt to keep Howard in Orlando and make him happy.  Now they have to get more firepower around him.

Collins vs. Wright

On Tuesday night Mets manager Terry Collins and 3B David Wright were seen having a heated argument in the dugout.  Collins had pulled Wright from the game.  Ryan Braun the Brewers star player was plunked in the back and Collins feared retalliation and didnt want his star player to get hurt.  Do you take the stance of Wright or Collins in the situation.

Personally I sided with Collins on this one.  Wright has had a history with getting hit with pitches, and he's been hit in the head once costing him a major concussion.  Also with the Mets exceeding their expectations right now it would almost seem to be idiotic to leave your franchise player and MVP candidate to fry like a fish.  Sometimes managers have to protect players from themselves.  I love the fact Wright was firey and showed leadership but its too early and the Mets are playing too good right now for something tragic to happen.

Rangers v Devils

The Rangers and Devils are set to face off in the Eastern Conference finals.  Playoff hockey has really been great this year and has been widely recognized.  But if your just a fan of this game, who do you root for, especially if you live in the area?

Josh Hamilton

Last week Josh Hamilton hit 4 homeruns in a game, something that has only been done 16 times in the history of the game.  Hitting 4 homeruns is a rare feat but not the rarest.  Achieving 20 strikeouts in a game has only been done 5 times.  Whats do you think is the best, hardest, and which one do you want to do?

Concussions and Football

Kurt Warner said he was scared and hesitant for his sons playing football because of everything going on with concussions.  It deffinitly is a legitamate concern for many people and really makes you think twice.  How comfortable are you to letting your kids play football?

Olympics and Pay

With the London Olympics coming in July, there is this on going argument that professional athletes should be compensated for the olypmpics.  Dwayne Wade sturred up this conversation with his thoughts on the topic.  Any thoughts?

Meyweather and Paquioa

On Saturday night Floyd Meyweather won with ease...again.  After the bout during an interview inside the ring he stated "lets give the fans what they want Meyweather and Paquioa".  So what is the problem?  Boxing has beenin a slump as of late and this fight will be the fight of the century and could possibly bring the sport back to respectability.  What are the problems?  Do you think the fight will happen? Will it bring this once great sport back to prestige?

Hamels vs Harper

Throwing inside to hitters is part of a game to execute a pitch.  Throwing at hitters is part of the game to send a message to the hitter.  So on Sunday when Cole Hamels intentionally threw at young phenom Bryce Harper and admitted it he got suspended for 5 games missing his next smart.  Agree or Disagree.
